Street Soccer Park is the first of its kind, “mini-pitch facility” in the United States. Our first two ‘Parks’ feature two 55’x80’ courts, warm-up areas, modified clubhouse and locker room, and surround sound music to create a dynamic playing environment. SSUSA Park Competition Rules for Leagues and Drop-in Mini Tournaments

Field Surface:

The Street Soccer USA pitch comprises of a quality artificial turf flooring and 4ft high walls. Part of the court will have nets above the walls used to prevent the ball from leaving the field of play.

Both the floor and walls comprise of the field of play and as such, the ball is still in play when it comes into contact with these surfaces. The nets, however, are not. If the ball hits the net or leaves the field of play (and when signaled as such by the referee), the ball will be deemed to be out and play will be restarted accordingly.

Field Markings:

The field is marked with two goal creases, and a halfway line.

There are no touchlines because the walls surround the pitch. The goal line is between the goal posts and under the cross bar. The field of play is divided into two halves by a halfway line. There are no flagposts or corner arcs on the courts.

Dimensions:

Size of court: 72 ft (long) x 52 ft (wide).

Size of goals: 4ft (tall) x 12 ft (wide).

Goal Areas:

The penalty/goalkeeper area is a semi-circle with a 10 ft radius.

Nets will be attached to the goals and the ground behind the goal. The nets and goals are properly supported and will not interfere with the goalkeeper.

Substitution Zone:

The Substitution Zone will be outside the field of play. There is a door which allows access to the court for the teams players. Teams are only permitted to use the door in front of the Substitution Zone for their players to enter and leave the field of play. Jumping over the wall is not permitted. The door must be closed again immediately after a player enters/leaves the field so as not to interfere with the game.

The Ball

The ball used for this Cup is generically known as a Size 4 Futsal Ball and conforms to those standards provided in the FIFA Futsal Rules of the Game.

Teams

– 4-10 players total per team.

– Players can be all male, all female, or mixed depending on league you are entering. Drop-in tournaments will be organized by skill level.

– Maximum of 4 players per team on the court.

– 3 outfield players.

– 1 goalkeeper.

– 6 substitute players.

Duration of matches

Two halves of 7 minutes each, plus one-minute interval in between each half.

Forfeit Rules

-If a team knows that it will have to forfeit for lack of players, the team must give advanced notice to the league general manager.

-If a team does not have 4 players at the start of the game, the team may play the game with 3 players.

-Any fewer than 3 players on a team is a forfeit. Teams can still play a “scrimmage” match in these situations by “picking up” players from another team (provided the other team lends them players), but the result of this scrimmage match is still recorded as a forfeit in the match results.

Start

The match starts when the referee throws the ball into the court. One team will start with the ball, and the other team will start with the ball in the second period. When a goal is scored, the team that has conceded the goal retrieves the ball and the goalkeeper is allowed to roll the ball back into play immediately.

Player Rules of No Contact

1) No Body Contact.

– This means no shoulder to shoulder that results in any movement of the other player’s body.

-This means no using your body to “box out” (body to body) another player.

– This means no “ball first and body second” contact.

– 50 – 50 balls that result in contact/collisions will be awarded to the keeper on that side of the field. A restart.

– Ball Contact Only. Think Basketball.

2) Player who is in control of the ball has right of way, unless the defender has both feet planted.

– Defender must tackle the ball or strip the ball off of a player without touching the player.

– Offensive player cannot charge or run into a stationary defender or any part of a stationary defender’s body. – Think Basketball “Charging.”

3) Any tackle that trips another player is a Yellow Card & 2 Minutes – intentional or not

Street Soccer Mac OS

– Any simulation of a physical foul (flopping, diving, etc) where a player could have kept their footing, is a Yellow Card & 2 Minutes for the simulator.

Other Player Rules

-No headers

-No playing with both hands on the court walls

-No playing the ball by a player on the ground

One player ALWAYS in attacking half

– At least one player must remain in the attacking half of play. A foul will be awarded against a team if the whole team is in its own half. The 3rd repeated infraction results in a penalty kick.

If a player on a team receives a yellow card then while the team is a player or more down this rule will not apply (the team which is down a man may defend with their entire team until the player returns). Similarly this rule will not apply if a player in a team receives a red card. For more information on blue and red cards, please see below.

Goalkeeper Rules

– The goalkeeper can score goals.

– The goalkeeper can leave the penalty area and play on the field (includes the attacking half).

– (Hermit Crab Rule) The goalkeeper cannot re-enter the penalty area with the ball once he/she has left the penalty area . The goalkeeper must give up possession of the ball before re-entering.

– The goalkeeper cannot hold the ball longer than 5 seconds in his/her penalty area (“playing for time”).

– The goalkeeper cannot roll the ball to him or herself after a goal has been conceded or a dead ball.

-The goalkeeper cannot pick up the ball with his/her hands when the ball is outside the Penalty Area. A violation results in a penalty kick.

– The “no pass back” rule applies. If a goalkeeper picks the ball up with his/her hands after receiving a pass back from a teammate (even if the goalkeeper has both feet in the Penalty Area), then the other team is awarded a penalty kick.

Rules for Penalty Area

– Outfield players cannot enter the penalty area. This rule applies to both attacking and defending players (“fishing for the ball” is not allowed).

– If a player from the defending team enters the penalty area, the other team receives a penalty kick.

– If a player from the attacking team enters the penalty area, the play is blown dead and the ball starts with the goalkeeper.

Stoppages

The game clock will only be stopped in the event of an injury. If a penalty kick is awarded and time expires before the penalty kick is taken, the penalty kick will be the last play of the half.

Penalty Kicks

A penalty is given when:

– A player from the defending team enters the penalty area.

– A team passes back three times in a row directly to their own goalkeeper with the intention of time wasting.

– If the goalkeeper holds the ball longer than 5 seconds in his/her penalty (“playing for time”).

– If the goalkeeper picks up the ball with his/her hands when he/she receives a back pass from a player on his/her own team.

-If the goalkeeper picks up the ball with his/her hands when the ball is outside the penalty area.

– A penalty kick is taken from half-field. The player will start at half-field, dribble the ball forward and attempt to score on the keeper. The kick-taker can use as many touches as he or she needs, but, the moment the ball stops moving towards the goal or moves backwards from the goal the penalty is blown dead. The goalkeeper cannot leave the penalty area during a penalty kick.

A player given a yellow card will be sent off for two minutes and not allowed back on. After two minutes have elapsed the player given the yellow card. Penalty time will carry over into the next half if the yellow card occurred within the last two minutes of the previous half. Player forward rule does not apply to the team that is short one player during the penalty period.

Red Card (match penalty): For serious foul play a player is excluded from the rest of the match. The team has to play with one less player for the remainder of the match. In matches decided by a penalty shootout, the winning team gets three points and the losing teams gets one point.
